Heart disease is the single biggest killer of men and women in New Zealand. Every week, over one hundred New Zealand families lose a loved one to heart disease; tragically, many of these deaths are premature and preventable.

The Heart Foundation aims to stop family members from prematurely dying from heart disease and to help Kiwis living with heart disease live full and productive lives. Our wide-ranging work in heart health includes:

• Funding life-saving heart health research into treating, curing, and preventing heart diseases.
• Funding training for New Zealand's most promising cardiologists and researchers, both at home and overseas, to ensure we maintain our world-class heart health services.
• Developing and implementing heart disease prevention programmes for schools and communities designed to keep all New Zealanders' hearts healthy.

• Championing the best care for those of us at risk of, or living with, heart disease in this country.

In the 55 years since the Heart Foundation was established, death rates from heart disease in New Zealand have fallen by more than 75 per cent. But there is much more to be done. Heart disease is still the single leading cause of death in this country, with more than one of us losing our life every 90 minutes.

Lottery terms and conditions

Please note, to be able to win the first prize home, your identity and eligibility to own the home under the Overseas Investment Act 2005 must be satisfactorily established. If your ticket number is drawn for the first prize home, sufficient evidence of your identity and eligibility must be provided to the Heart Foundation's legal advisors within 30 days to complete the transfer of ownership. If it is not, the first prize will be forfeited and re-drawn. If evidence is provided, but you are not eligible to own the first prize home, then the Heart Foundation will take reasonable endeavours to sell the home on terms and conditions at its discretion and at a price set by the market and will provide you with the net proceeds of the sale.

The total number of tickets offered in the Lottery is 250,000 ranging from 010000 to 259999 inclusive. Results will be declared by blind selection of included numbers, under supervision of an independent witness in accordance with Rule 6 (14) of the Gambling Act (Lottery) Game Rules 2004.
